“The Edge of Redemption” is one man’s story of God’s forgiveness and grace. Troy Evans embraced the street life early, joining a gang and ascending into leadership. Violence and crime dominated his life. But God had other plans for Pastor Troy.
The Edge of Redemption is far more than a remarkable biography—Pastor Troy challenges church and community leadership to engage the very cultures they find threatening to faith, family, and their way of life. Wherever we’ve been placed, God calls us to go into that world and make disciples, not flee from it.
It seems impossible—they seem unreachable. But Troy testifies and explains why there is no such thing as impossible or unreachable with God. He has placed his Church in this world to bring redemption through Jesus Christ to people in his context. Evans compellingly illustrates from his own remarkable life how cultures that spread and practice society’s most potent and insidious evils can be radically redeemed from the edge by the Good News.
Each chapter is part Troy’s story and part application and challenge to the church. Discussion questions help readers take Troy’s call into their hearts and out into the culture so desperately in need of Jesus.
